Hello breakfast lovers!

Time to sweeten things up a bit!

Maple syrup is a healthy sweetener option when used in moderation- which is all you need because this stuff has a tendandcy to be pretty potent! Here is a quick list of some of the health benefits of 100% pure maple syrup (no processing or removal of anything):

  • Maple syrup contains manganese and zinc {natural antioxidants which are good for your immune system, male reproductive systems and helps prevent damage to the heart}
  • It’s also been found to be a potent liver cleanser, ensuring that the liver performs well.

1lb ground pork
1/4 c cooked bacon pieces
2t maple syrup (the good stuff)

Season with:
ground ginger
ground sage
garlic {I have also replaced this with cinnamon}
pepper

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl and form into 1 inch balls or sausage flats.

These can be baked at 360 for 30 minutes but I prefer to pan fry them– stirring occasionally to cook all the way around. The flavors seem {to me} a lot stronger when you pan fry them!
